A sacred court held in leaf and line

Rama Darbar brings together Rama, Sita, Hanuman and the wider royal assembly in a composition centred on devotion, relationship and righteous presence.

Rather than showing a moment of battle or journey, the scene is calm and ceremonial.

Rama and Sita occupy the centre beneath the canopy while Hanuman’s kneeling figure introduces one of the Ramayana’s most enduring expressions of devotion.

On palm leaf, the scene is carried through:

leaf → engraved line → natural pigment → sacred narrative

The result is not simply a portrait of Rama and Sita, but a complete sacred setting built through figure, architecture and ornament.
