Prosperity carried through leaf and line

In the Gaja Lakshmi form, Lakshmi is accompanied by elephants—an image traditionally associated with prosperity, fertility, well-being and life-giving abundance.

Here, the goddess sits calmly at the centre while the elephants rise beside her, visually framing the sacred image.

The surrounding engraved architecture and patterned border add another layer of rhythm without overpowering the figure itself.

Within Indie Kaarigari’s Palm-Leaf Pattachitra world, the composition is carried through:

palm leaf → engraved line → natural pigment → sacred image

The familiar sacred form remains recognisable, but the material language belongs distinctly to palm leaf.
