Sacred action beneath a living canopy

At the centre of the composition is a moment of power: Durga as Mahishasuramardini.

But this artwork does not isolate the goddess from the world around her.

A vast tree grows through almost the entire length of the piece. Branches divide repeatedly. Hundreds of leaves fill the surrounding surface. The sacred action becomes one moment held inside a much larger field of life.

That relationship gives the work an unusual visual tension:

conflict within continuity
power within growth
sacred action within nature

On palm leaf, the story is built gradually through:

joined leaf → engraved line → natural pigment → narrative landscape

The result is not simply a Durga image with a tree behind it.

The tree becomes part of the story.
